Cat is a Potion in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Potions are special concoctions that Geralt can imbibe to gain a plethora of short-lived effects that are highly beneficial both in and out of combat. However, they also have adverse effects on his blood Toxicity that need to be managed. Potions can be used at any time from the Inventory, or they can be assigned to your Consumables Quickslots for easy access. They have a limited number of charges but can be replenished by Meditating for at least one hour while possessing one or more units of Alcohol.  

This Potion can be upgraded into the Enhanced Cat.

Cat Potion Attributes in The Witcher 3

The Cat Potion has the following properties:

Grants sight in total darkness.
25 Range of vision.

This Potion's effect brightens the surroundings up to a certain range and is particularly useful when exploring caves and other similarly dark environments. However, it also desaturates much of the screen, causing everything to appear devoid of color as if viewed through a grayscale filter.

Warning: Exiting dark environments and returning outdoors with the potion effect still active can prove highly disorienting for many players due to the quick and extreme lighting change imposed by the game's engine, particularly on sunny days. Thus, it is recommended you consume a White Honey Potion or Meditate to remove the effects before heading outside.

Cat's effects have a base duration of 60 secs, but this can be improved with every single point invested in any Skills in the Alchemy Skill line.

Cat Crafting Information in The Witcher 3

Like most Potions, Cat can be crafted via Alchemy after finding and reading its Manuscript. Manuscripts can be found randomly in treasure chests, particularly guarded treasure, but many can also be purchased from Herbalists and Alchemists in major cities, towns and other settlements.

The required ingredients for crafting Cat are as follows: 

• Dwarven Spirit x 1
• Berbercane Fruit x 4
• Water Essence x 2

Geralt automatically has access to this Potion's formula upon arriving in White Orchard for the first time.
