X Marks the Spot is a Treasure Hunt in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Treasure Hunts are optional Quests not required to finish the game. They are usually activated by interacting with special objects that provide information or clues on the Treasure Hunt objectives. Most treasure hunt quests involve following Geralt's Witcher Senses in order to find the treasure's final location. Complete Treasure Hunts to gain additional rewards. Geralt found a key and a map with a location on Ard Skellig marked on it. Though he usually smirked at wild-eyed treasure hunters, he couldn't resist seeing if some treasure lay hidden there.

This Treasure Hunt is activated by obtaining Mysterious map. It can be found: In an abandoned hut
Southeast of Blandare Signpost is, east of the lake is the location of the Hidden Treasure. You will come across an abandoned hut. A skeleton in the hut will contain a Mysterious Map and an Old Key.
Open the map to fine the search location. This will lead you to a chest below a waterfall.

To his surprise, Geralt discovered the treasure map was neither a joke nor a trap. It truly did lead him to a chest full of valuables.
