It'll be next to the campfire. A box next to a wood plank panel will have Isabelle Duchamp's journal. Read the note to continue. You will need to find the entrance to the chambers under the ruins. You should be able to walk to this location. Before you leave the area, make sure you search behind the waterfall for additional loot. Then make your way to the chamber entrance. You will be blocked by a purple wall. You'll first need to find the key nearby. A corner will have a small loot item that may be easy to miss. This is a purple ruby. Geralt's own exploration of the site ended in the cellars beneath the ruins. Our hero learned the scholars had reached a spot haunted by elven specters.
