Quen is a Sign in the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt used to cast protective energy fields over themselves. Quen can be improved by putting points into the Quen Skill Line.
Quen Information
Exploding Shield
Effect: Quen shield pushes opponents back when it breaks. Stamina regeneration in combat +0.5/s
Active Shield
Effect: Alternate Sign Mode: Creates an active shield. Maintaining it and blocking attacks drains Stamina. Damage absorbed by the shield restores player Vitality. Stamina regeneration in combat +0.5/s
Quen Discharge
Effect: Reflects 5% of absorbed damage back to the attacker. Stamina regeneration in combat +0.5/s
Notes
- It has 200 Base Shield.
- 1% Intensity gives 1% more Shield (Example 10% Intensity = 220 Shield)
- It's basic function is to negate the first hit taken after casting Quen.
- Extremely powerful hits may still deal reduced damage through the Quen shield. Raise Quen/Sign intensity to deal with this.
- Quen's alternative mode leaves you immobilized but allow you to replenish health and counter with a (damaging) shockwave.

Man oh man, I can't seem to find this simple answer anywhere!!!! Does anyone know how long the Quen sign lasts for in Witcher 3 (Quen sign duration?) It's the sign that's puts an absorb shield on you. Thanks!
