Petri's Philter is a Potion in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Potions are special concoctions that Geralt can imbibe to gain a plethora of short-lived effects that are highly beneficial both in and out of combat. However, they also have adverse effects on his blood Toxicity that need to be managed. Potions can be used at any time from the Inventory, or they can be assigned to your Consumables Quickslots for easy access. They have a limited number of charges but can be replenished by Meditating for at least one hour while possessing one or more units of Alcohol.
This Potion can be upgraded into the Enhanced Petri's Philter.
Petri's Philter Potion Attributes in The Witcher 3
The Petri's Philter Potion has the following properties:
Increases Sign intensity.
15% Sign intensity
This Potion temporarily increases the intensity of all of Geralt's Witcher Signs magic. Sign Intensity has varying effects for each Sign:
- Aard - Increases chance to knock opponents down, as well as the amount of time they stay down.
- Igni - Scales the damage dealt by the Sign, including the initial wave and the damage-over-time effect when burning is applied.
- Quen - Improves the shield's capability to absorb attacks before breaking.
- Yrden - Improves the Slowdown effect on enemies caught within the trap.
- Axii - Improves the effect's duration.
Petri's Philter's effects have a base duration of 30 secs, but this can be improved with every single point invested in any Skills in the Alchemy Skill line.
Petri's Philter Crafting Information in The Witcher 3
Like most Potions, Petri's Philter can be crafted via Alchemy after finding and reading its Manuscript. Manuscripts can be found randomly in treasure chests, particularly guarded treasure, but many can also be purchased from Herbalists and Alchemists in major cities, towns and other settlements.
The required ingredients for crafting Petri's Philter are as follows:
- Dwarven Spirit x 1
- Arenaria x 5
- Specter Dust x 1
