Love's Cruel Snares is a Secondary Quest in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Secondary Quests are optional Quests not required to finish the game. Some of these quests may have a bearing on certain Main Quests or may be a consequence of another Quest.
Love's Cruel Snares can only be obtained after clearing out the Abandoned Site north of Condyle in Velen. Afterwards, you can speak to a woman marked with a yellow exclamation mark just east of the Abandoned Site to start the quest. She asks for aid in finding her missing fiancé.
While wandering Velen, Geralt happened across a woman who was weeping violently. She explained that her betrothed had gone into the woods to check his traps but never returned - and she feared the worst. Geralt calmed her and promised to check what had become of her beloved.
