Notes

  • It has 100 Base Damage and 44% Base chance to Ignite/Burn.
  • 1% Intensity gives 0.5% higher cance to Burn and 1% more Damage.
  • The Tier 2 has 30 base damage and 80-85 chanelling damage and should scale the same.
  • Igni's burning damage scales with enemy health and is therefore very effective at damaging powerful enemies.

So many more or less useless skills in The Witcher 3, I preferred the skill trees from the second game. Melting armour, almost entirely useless, extra burn as a final tier skill, even more useless. Then there're skills like Fixative, double charges on oils, like why? Why would you ever waste points, not to mention a slot, on such a useless skill? It made sense to do oil duration in the second game because you needed to craft them each time, but in TW3? Nope, useless. I heard that CDPR said they're done with TW3, but I sure wouldn't mind a few (lot) of touchups on the skill tree. Like giving Fixative a +5/7/10 % bonus to oil dmg bonus per rank, changing Melt Armour to reduce dmg resistance by 33 % at max rank (non-stackable) and then making it tier 4, while putting Pyromaniac as tier 1 Igni.

I don't understand how tier 4 helps. I easily got 125% Intensity since lvl 12. So my chance to ignite an enemy is 44% + 62,5% > 1 because of the intensity bonus. So I already ignite everything that's ignitable. Is this skill really only for those who want to use signs without boosting intensity? Or am I missing something?
