Child of the Elder Blood is a Main Quest in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Main Quests are the main storyline of the game that can have a major effect towards the endings. Some of these quests may have dialogue choices that will alter the ending of the game.
Ciri pulled Geralt aside for a confidential heart-to-heart. She confided to him that Avallac'h had a hidden lair, a secret place that not even Ciri, his star pupil and long-time traveling companion, had been allowed to visit. Intrigued, Geralt decided to enter this secret lair and find out what the Seer was hiding.
The most important part of any conspiracy is for the co-conspirators to trust each other fully, and Ciri's revelation had cast a shadow of suspicion on Avallac'h. Geralt knew light must be shed on this shadow before it proved too late.
It turned out Avallac'h's well-guarded secret was a hidden laboratory in which he carried out research on Lara Dorren's gene - the gene Ciri bore within her, the cause of her power and her misfortune. Ciri was understandably less than thrilled to see herself through Avallac'h's eyes as a subject in some twisted experiment.
Meanwhile, they also discovered this secret research wasn't the only reason the Seer kept the place hidden. Avallac'h seemed to have been using it as a pleasure alcove for trysts with his elven lover. Who would have thought? It turns out even the wisest of sages is not always driven by pure reason alone.

The Witcher 3 Walkthrough for Child of the Elder Blood
This quest continues after Yen and Ciri port to Avallac'h's lab and Philippa departs for the elven ruins during The Sunstone. Locate the island Ciri pointed out and sail for it. Find the cave's entrace in the center, between the 2 islands.
Yen and Ciri are here, trying to open the door. They succeed but activate one of the golems. Defeat it and follow Yen to the lab. Use your Witcher Senses to inspect the chamber to find the following:
- Candy on the table, speak with Yen.
- A hairbrush
- Down the steps a desk with perfume and a mirror. Speak to Ciri about this.
- A chart of elder blood.
Go to the door opposite this chamber. If you don't Yen will notice someone. Enter the bedroom to see Avallac'h's lover. You may answer her how you wish. You now have an important choice to make. Ciri is angry and wants to destroy the lab. If you say go for it, this makes Ciri stronger and you gain a positive choice towards her fate. If you tell her to calm down, her resolve weakens and you gain a negative choice towards her fate.
Once outside, Ciri wants to go to Hindarsfjall and meet Skjall. If you say "yeah I'll go with you" Ciri gets stronger and you gain a positive choice towards her fate. If you say no you gain a negative choice towards her ultimate fate.
