Cabaret

-
Type Secondary Quest
Location Novigrad
Suggested Level 14
Prerequisite A Poet Under Pressure
Next Quest Carnal Sins

Cabaret is a Secondary Quest in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Secondary Quests are optional Quests not required to finish the game. Some of these quests may have a bearing on certain Main Quests or may be a consequence of another Quest.

Cabaret can be obtained after saving Dandelion during A Poet Under Pressure. Speak to him at the Rosemary and Thyme located north of the Gate of Hierarch in Novigrad and he tells you of his plans of rebranding and renovating the brothel into a cabaret.

Ever since that fateful eve near twenty years ago when my dear friend Geralt and I visited a no-longer-extant cabaret in the once-beautiful city of Oxenfurt, I have longed with every fiber of my being to become the owner of just such an establishment. When Alonso Wily, more commonly known as *****son Senior, left me the Rosemary and Thyme in his will, my dreams finally began to assume a more concrete form. When Priscilla lent her support to the endeavor, the scales tipped decidedly towards action and the ball threatened to start rolling. I needed just a few things more to begin my planned remodeling of the Rosemary and Thyme into a cabaret - and so I turned to Geralt, the fiercest fetcher in the world.

Walkthrough for The Witcher 3 Cabaret

Dandelion will explain to you that he needs money to transform the Rosemary and Thyme into the Cabaret he's dreamed of and then he will send you off to collect a prop sword from Madame Irina.

Collect the sword and meet up with Dandelion after dusk in front of Sophronia's house. He will then explain his plot in getting Sophronia to give him a loan by pretending to be a valiant crime fighter and you act as a brigand to threaten Sophronia. He will then give you some lines that you may select later or ignore if you wish. Then you must pretend-fight Dandelion with the prop sword you collected from Madame Irina. You can choose to defeat Dandelion and earn 25 XP or let him win and earn 50 XP. Your choice here will have no bearing on the outcome except for Dandelion's immediate disposition towards you. You can also choose to run away from the fight and this will have the same effect as him winning.

Now wait until morning to meet up again with Dandelion at the Rosemary and Thyme. Meditating inside the inn will automatically trigger a cutscene. When you arrive, you will find Priscilla and a group of dwarves, but Dandelion cannot be seen around. The dwarves will then ask you which style the place should be renovated. You can pick either theatrical or boudoir or you can simply let Priscilla decide. If you choose theatrical, Dandelion will be happy. Priscilla will then tell you that Dandelion is looking for Polly, their choreographer.

You can then find Dandelion banging on the door of Polly's house. When you approach him, he will explain that her fiance won't let her work for him. Now you will have to find the key to the house. Then you can either beat up her husband or make him listen to Dandelion. Your choice here will affect whether Polly stays in a relationship with her husband, Hubio. But regardless of your choice, she will still go to Rosemary and Thyme while Dandelion sends you off to collect some placards from Rautlec. You will receive 50 XP here.

Go to Rautlec's house which can be located in Silverton, you will then find the house being robbed by bandits and they explain that Rautlec is in a lot of debt and they're just collecting it. No matter what you say here, a fistfight will occur. Whether you win or lose, they will still tell you where Rautlec is, he can be found in the races near Vegelbud Residence. Once you find him there, he will receive an offer from Count de Luverten to pay his debts if he wins one last bet. He will not give you the placards Dandelion is asking for until he resolves this issue. You will have multiple options here:

  • You can offer to win the race for him.
  • You can pay off his debt of 200 Crowns.
  • Or you can leave him and give up on the placards as well.

If you choose to race for him, you will receive 25 XP, 80 Crowns, and a Mastercrafted Saddle for winning the race. Do note that losing the race will only increase his debt, but you will have the option to just pay 270 Crowns.

Once you relieve Rautlec of his debts, you will be awarded an additional 25 XP and he will also give you the placards.

Now return to the Cabaret and you will see that it will have the new interior as decided when you last spoke to Priscilla and it is now called the "Chameleon". The quest is then completed after some conversations with Dandelion and will reward you with 70 XP and an additional 50 XP. A messenger will then bring news that Priscilla has been attacked and once you're in the hospital, the quest Carnal Sins will start.
