Bald Mountain is a Main Quest in The Witcher 3 Wild HuntMain Quests are the main storyline of the game that can have a major effect towards the endings. Some of these quests may have dialogue choices that will alter the ending of the game.

Vesemir's death tore a gaping hole in Ciri's heart and left only a burning drive for revenge to fill it. This drive burned all the higher when she learned from Avallac'h that Imlerith, the general of the Hunt who murdered Vesemir, would be attending the Crones sabbath on Bald Mountain. Ciri smelled blood and decided at once to travel to No Ma,'s Land and kill Imlerith. Geralt, that calculating, practical-minded witcher, as usual caved immediately to his adopted daughter's wishes and agreed to accompany her on this expedition. The pair thus slipped out of Kaer Morhhen in the cool light of morning and galloped off to find vengeance.

Vengeance is what they found, and, though served warm, it was nonetheless sweet. The duo found their way to the top of Bald Mountian and there Ciri killed two of the three Crones while Geralt triumphed in a deathmatch against Imlerith. The only bitter note - the third Crone escaped, taking with her Vesemir's medallion, the only memento Ciri had kept of her dead friend and mentor.

Walkthrough Bald Mountain in The Witcher 3

Disembark from the boat and ask Ciri what she knows about the place and why she think Imlerith is present. As you walk along the road she will warn you about Aen Elle elves. At the top of the steps speak to guard and man. Ask them about the feast, why the gates are closed and the ladies descending to the village. You will be directed to see Thecla aftewards.

Head down the village's main path. You meet up with Johnny the Godling and Sarah the Godling if you removed her during Novigrad Dreaming. Speak to Johnny and he will tell you the only way up the mountain is by permission from Thecla and that she has a guest.

Cross the wooden bridge and go into a tent on your right and see Marlca and Thecla. Ciri is accepted but you are not. Answer how you wish and prepare for a judgement.

Dive off the ledge and swim to the underwater tunnel, avoiding the drowners. Use your Witcher Senses to scan the area for the coin which is near the junction of the deadend alcove and the exit tunnels. Swim to the exit tunnel and head west to exit the pool. Mind the fiend prowling the area here. Climb over the rocks to the wooden stairs on the southeast and make your way back to the tent. You are deemed worthy and allowed to keep the coin.

Head back across the wooden bridge and turn east at the petroglyph rock and head towards the entrance to the mountain. You will meet Fugas, who will attack you. Defeat him and discuss with Ciri who will face the Crones and who will face Imlerith. After a game of rock, paper, scissors, Ciri gets the crones and you get Imlerith.

You are now controlling Ciri. Head along the tunnel and swim into the pool heading southwest. Climb up and head into the crones' cave. They welcoome you in and the conversation turns violent. They are a tough fight and you must stay nimble through it. Target the large one first, and be mindful of the bloody water. Inspect the corpses when they are slain. Weavess comes to and tosses you.

You now switch back to Geralt. Take the path up Bald Mountain and cross the bridge, climbing the rock ledges to a bonfire. Be prepared for a battle, by preparing your potions and meditating before you confront Imlerith. He will ask where Ciri is. Regardless of your answer, the fight will begin.

Imlerith is not as slow as he looks and can teleport around. Use the potions at your disposal to improve your chances against him. The mace can only be dodged or rolled from, so stick close and dodge. Flank him and attack behind his shield. Otherwise his shield will stop everything it encounters. When he teleports he gains a frost coating which can be burnt off with Igni.  Eventually you can warp his shield to the point where it gets knocked aside, letting you make an attack.

When he's down to 20 percent, he tosses his shield down and swings wildly. In the final phase, focus on dodging and rolling until Imlerith gets his mace stuck in the ground. He rcovers as soon as you strike him so be ready to dodge. Be patient, waiting for openings and whittle his health down.

Once Imerith is defeated, Ciri joins you and you compare your notes. She suggests you meet up with Yennefer and Triss in Novigrad. You can either set off or say not yet. If you explore a little around Bald Mountain and Imlerith's corpse you can find a strange acorn that the villagers say is an important seed. Once ready to set off, 2 villagers stop and ask you about the acorn. You can say you don't know about them, give them the acorn so another tree may grow, or keep it and eat it to earn 2 skill points.
