Skjalls Grave is a Main Quest in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Main Quests are the main storyline of the game that can have a major effect towards the endings. Some of these quests may have dialogue choices that will alter the ending of the game.
When Ciri and Geralt reached Hindarsfjall, Ciri mentioned she wished to visit someone very special to her, a young man named Skjall who had helped her flee the Wild Hunt. Yennefer and Geralt exchanged grim looks and gave Ciri the tragic news: Skjall was dead. Fighting back tears, Ciri announced she was going to visit his grave.
It turned out brave Skjall was not treated with the respect he deserved after his death. His body was thrown in a ditch like a rotting animal carcass. Offended to her very core, Ciri pulled his corpse out of the ditch and buried it with Geralt's help near the cemetery. This violation of custom aroused the disgust and outrage of nearby Skelligers, to whom Skjall was a disgraced outcast. Ciri remained intransigent and refused to give any ground to local sensibilities. All in all, it was an unfortunate incident that could have been handled more, hm... delicately.

Ciri is told that Skjall is dead and asks you to go with her to his grave. Agreeing continues the quest, refusing pauses this quest. If you agree, Yen will open a port to Hindarsfjall which you can travel through or make your own way.
At the isle, find the cemetery. Answer the conversation however you wish. She leaves to find out what's going on when you discover the remaiins. The villagers won't be happy with your actions, you can tell them to be quiet or that you're above their laws. Regardless, they stay way from the grave. Return to the ship in Kaer Trolde and speak with Avallac'h. You can ask him a manner of questions. After when everything is ready you can automatically head to Undvik or prepare first. All the related quests come to a close and On Thin Ice begins.
