New Game Plus | The Witcher 3 Wiki


New Game Plus is a new mode added on August 19th 2015 as free DLC to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

New Game Plus mode was the final free DLC for the third installment in their popular dark fantasy series. While they have yet to announce a release date, Community Coordinator Marcin Momot took to the forums to give the fans an idea of what to expect.

Here's what Mr. Momot had to say:

  • “Regarding some of the questions that appeared since yesterday, here are the answers.

  • Enemies will be stronger, obviously.


What carries over?

  • Player experience (if you're below level 30 when finishing the vanilla game, you will be bumped to level 30 for the start of NG+), items (excluding: quest items, books & letters, Gwent cards, usable items, trophies), money and alchemy recipes.

  • When starting New Game Plus you can select any difficulty level.

  • You can obtain the Death Match achievement when playing the NG+ mode.


What's the starting level of the character when beginning NG+?

  • The same that you had when finishing the game, if above 30, otherwise you start at level 30. You also get a free Clearing Potion at the start so you can reset your skills and try a different build.”
New Game Plus modes are often loved for their ability to breathe fresh life into a game that's been beaten and in danger of landing in dust collector status. This sounds like it will do just that for existing owners, and provide a little extra incentive for those thinking about making a new purchase. We'll have more updates for you as we get some concrete release times.

      Player also loses his smithing diagrams, witcher gear diagrams included.
      The Warrior's Leather Jacket and the rest of the starting set is added back to your inventory once again, though.

        Unlocked 30 May @ 8:36pm Ran the Gauntlet Finish the game on the "Blood and Broken Bones!" or "Death March!" difficulty levels. Unlocked 30 May @ 8:36pm Walked the Path Finish the game on the "Death March!" difficulty level.
