Last Rites is a Secondary Quest in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Secondary Quests are optional Quests not required to finish the game. Some of these quests may have a bearing on certain Main Quests or may be a consequence of another Quest.

Last Rites can be obtained by speaking to an old woman by the road north of Blackbough in Velen at night. The old woman asks that you aid her in appeasing the ghost of her late husband. You must complete the Defender of the Faith secondary quest for this quest to become available.

The old woman looked much like the many other widows of Velen, though her eyes seemed to have seen even more hardship than usual. Perhaps that was because she was haunted by the ghost of her husband, who had died at war years ago. The ghost had asked the woman to bring her wedding ring to his grave. The cemetery was too far-off for an elderly woman to journey to, however, so she asked Geralt if he could make the trip for her. The witcher took pity and decided to grant her this somewhat unusual request.

Walkthrough for The Witcher 3 Last Rites

North of Blackbough and during nighttime, a woman can be found near a pond. If you talk to her, she will say she is being haunted by the spirit of her husband Jackamar. She asks that you find his grave and appease him by placing a ring on his headstone. She'll also mention that her husband died in battle.

After you agree to help her, she'll tell you where the cemetery is and where you can meet her after the task for your reward. Now set off to find the grave, it is near the Pellar's Hut, northwest but not deep within the woods, in a cemetery overrun by Ghouls. Use your Witcher Senses to find the husband's grave, then examine it. Interact with the grave to place the ring, you will gain 10

The area will then show small green lights, you can then use Keira's Magic Lamp, and you will then witness a cutscene. Doing this will reward you with 25

Now return to the village, you will encounter Lessy, the granddaughter of the old woman, sweeping outside the hut. Speak to her and ask her about her grandmother. Lessy will be shocked about what you just told her. She would then reveal that her grandmother already died years back and that you've been talking to a ghost. Lessy will then give you 20 , and you will also gain 25 and the quest will be completed.
