Ciri's Story: The King of the Wolves is a Main Quest in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Main Quests are the main storyline of the game that can have a major effect towards the endings. Some of these quests may have dialogue choices that will alter the ending of the game.
This quest starts as Phillip Strenger gives Geralt a flashback account of his encounter with Ciri. Before you can take control of her movement, Ciri is running through the forest from an unidentified opponent when she tumbles down a steep embankment and into a body of water.
While trekking up the former riverbed, Ciri came across a girl named Gretka. The child spoke in a quivering voice of the fearsome Wolf King, who, in a twist straight out of a spine-tingling ballad, prowled the very path they needed to travel.
The Wolf King, it turned out, was in truth a common werewolf. Ciri slew it, but sustained a wound in the battle. A villager whom the werewolf had been threatening just before Ciri intervened thanked her for saving his life and offered to take her and Gretka to Crow's Perch, where the baron would feed them and tend to their wounds.

Walkthrough for The Witcher 3 Ciri's Story: The King of the Wolves
This quest is fairly straight forward. As you take control of Ciri be aware that she has a completely different fighting style to Geralt. She doesn't have any signs, nor does she have any healing items or inventory on her. Instead she is a formidable and fast combatant with a high speed dodge move for combat. She also happens to have a pretty strong HP regen effect so you shouldn't really have much trouble with the area.
Once you gain control, follow the swamp forward and you'll encounter a pack of wolves. Use your new found abilities to kill them and you'll get a cutscene introducing you to Gretka, a child sent off to her death by her parents. Yeah. Her dialogue is mysterious and heartbreaking. Be warned.
Back to the task at hand, she'll tell you about The King Of The Wolves, a local superstition. You are then instructed to follow Gretka, who will lead you further down the path. Another group of wolves will be down here, dispatch them then continue following the girl. As you continue down the path you'll find a body in a rather eviscerated state. Investigate the body and Ciri will come to the conclusion it was a werewolf that was to blame.
You'll then be prompted to collect ingredients for an oil to apply to your blade. Wander around the immediate area and you'll find all the ingredients you need.
After the next cutscene, follow the path again, clearing any wolves out of the way as you go. Gretka will lead you into a cave where you'll find the werewolf. The fight is far simpler than you'd get in Wild At Heart. Kill the werewolf and you'll complete the quest and gain some vital story in the following cutscene.
